That time of year is coming up again, firework season is upon us and as usual bonfire night appears to have become bonfire month. Fortunately, Ember isn’t too bothered about the fireworks as long as she is inside, but some dogs can be left terrified by them. Common signs of noise phobia include shaking, trembling, drooling, barking, howling, trying to hide and refusing to eat. Here are some tips for helping your dog on those frightful firework nights:
And just like that, it’s October already and Halloween is just around the corner. With treats on everyone’s mind this time of year, I naturally wanted Ember to celebrate too. And, of course, Neoh and Nobo’s Halloween collection is here to help do just that.
As I’m sure you know by now, Ember loves bananas, so when I found Murphy’s Bakery on Instagram, I knew she would have to try their treats.
Murphey’s Bakery treats are hand-baked in Worcestershire and the company take pride in ensuring they use locally sourced ingredients. Packed full of these locally sourced fruit and vegetables, these treats are also wheat and gluten free making them perfect for dogs suffering from allergies. They currently have four different flavours; Carrot and Banana, Apple and Oat, Peanut Butter and Banana and Beef and Cheddar. I choose the three veggie treats for Ember to try.
Despite claiming to love and care about animals, many pet food companies test their food and elements of their food on lab animals. These animals, many of whom are bred for the sole purpose of testing food, are subject to inhumane and invasive tests.
Whilst some dogs love car rides, Ember included, some dogs struggle with being in the car for a long period of time. If, in your judgement, your dog would enjoy a road trip with you, here’s some tips I have collected to make travelling with your dog an enjoyable and safe experience.
English based and made, CC Bear treats are made using only the best natural ingredients from British distributors. The family run business, Chef Christine and lucky taste tester Bubba Bear, have created these all natural, vegan dog treats for dog wellness, to celebrate the magical relationship between dogs and their owners. Ember and I were so excited when Christine offered to send us some treats to try. Meet our new favourite treats.
Holiday season is here! Whilst some people prefer to go abroad on super swanky holidays, I like nothing more than an adventure holiday where Ember can come too. Two years ago we went to the New Forest and we’re going back again this year, I can’t wait! There are so many benefits of taking your dog on holiday, here are a few of my favourites.
I first found Busters Bisquits on Instagram and was intrigued by the natural ingredients Romana uses to bake the treats. Named in memory of her beloved Buster, these treats are hand baked with love and attention in small batches in her kitchen. I was so excited when Romana offered to send Ember a trial pack of their classic treat and their new Vegan biscuits.
You probably know how much Ember and I love Guru, their cold-pressed food is a firm favourite and their complete meal bones are great for travelling. To top of their offerings, they have now created their Venison Sausage Slices containing venison and chopped apple. The venison contained within these ready to eat treats is sustainably sourced in Britan, an important value that Guru stick to for all their products.
Forthglade have always been famous for their healthy, natural dog food. So I was very excited when I found out they were releasing 100% natural treats too. These treats were released along with their new, dry cold pressed food.
